I’m not sorry for this. I’m tired of Sherlockians saying we Americans are afraid of having subtext between our male leads. WTF? Our House was doing this before Sherlock was even a suggestion before a studio exec!
But more seriously, why on earth would you talk like a show that is fine with subtext to excite the fangirls but continuously denies any possibility of an actual relationship in homophobic manner i somehow more progressive than a show with a male and female lead? Both are well within the heterosexual norm. I’m sorry but no amount of “subtext” you think you see changes the fact that male/male (especially white male) buddy shows are the industry norm.
